AnotherStory ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at anotherstoryos.polsia.app and the AnotherStory service. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share it. This policy explains our data practices in compliance with applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
1. Information We Collect
When you use AnotherStory, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Address and property information. You provide a home address to generate Street View photos and AI-rendered second-story imagery. This address is associated with your inquiry.
- Photos and images. We may store AI-generated renderings and Street View images associated with your project inquiry.
- Budget and project preferences. Your self-reported budget range, home details (age, square footage, foundation type), and project goals are used to provide cost estimates and match you with contractors.
- Contact information. Name, email address, and phone number collected via our inquiry form, including TCPA consent records with timestamp and IP address.
- Payment information. If you make a payment through AnotherStory, all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe. We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card or bank account numbers. See Section 5 for details.
- Usage data. General browser and device information, IP address, and basic site usage metrics may be collected automatically to improve our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate AI-rendered second-story imagery for your property using Google Street View and Gemini AI
- Calculate cost estimates based on your property details and our markets database
- Match you with a licensed contractor in your service area
- Send you project-related communications (estimates, scheduling, updates) via email and SMS where you have provided consent
- Improve our service and website performance
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Contractor sharing. When you are matched with a licensed contractor in your service area, we share your contact information, address, budget range, and project details with that contractor so they can contact you about your project.
- Service providers. We use third-party vendors for specific functions: Google (Street View images), Google (Gemini AI image generation), Anthropic (Claude API for cost narratives), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), and Twilio (SMS delivery). Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
- Business transfers. If AnotherStory is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy commitments.
4. TCPA Consent
If you provide your phone number and check the TCPA consent box on our form, you expressly authorize AnotherStory and your matched contractor to contact you via:
- Automated or pre-recorded phone calls
- Text/SMS messages (including automated messages)
- Email messages
Consent is for project-related communications only and is not a condition of service. To opt out at any time:
- Reply STOP to any SMS message
- Click Unsubscribe in any email
- Email privacy@anotherstory.polsia.app
We record the consent text, timestamp, IP address, and user agent for TCPA compliance and retain these records for at least 5 years.
5. Stripe Payment Processing
Payments made through AnotherStory are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you enter payment information on our site:
- Data is transmitted directly to Stripe over encrypted connections
- AnotherStory never sees, stores, or processes your raw card number
- Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle and store your payment data
We only store a transaction identifier and status returned by Stripe. Any billing disputes should be directed to Stripe directly, or you may contact us at privacy@anotherstory.polsia.app.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for the following periods:
- Lead records. Retained for a minimum of 5 years from date of collection to comply with TCPA requirements and for service continuity.
- TCPA consent records. Retained for a minimum of 5 years from the consent timestamp.
- AI-generated images. Stored for up to 12 months from creation, or until you request deletion.
After these periods, data is deleted or anonymized unless a legal hold requires continued retention.
7. Your Rights (CCPA and GDPR)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Right to know. Request a copy of what personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
- Right to delete. Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal holds, active service).
- Right to opt out. Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell data, so this is primarily a formal right).
- Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@anotherstory.polsia.app. We will respond within 30 days. If you are a California resident, you may also contact the California Attorney General.
For GDPR-covered individuals in the EU or EEA, additional rights include: data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy
AnotherStory is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Effective" date at the top of this page
- Post the revised policy on this page with a clear description of changes
- For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website
